The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain and snow and expects it to be in place until 3pm today, Monday, February 24.
It has said this is likely to lead to some travel disruption, with delays on the roads, stranding some vehicles and passengers, with possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel.

Hide AdIt has also warned power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.
Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
Noon: There’s a chance the showers will be back, with a 50% chance of a shower, with the wind speed expected to be around 18mph.
1pm: The wet weather will ease off and there’s just a 10% prediction for rain, while the wind will pick up with gusts of 22mph.

Hide Ad2pm: It might have seemed unlikely earlier today, but the Met Office forecast is for sunny intervals, but the wind will pick up speed even further. Visibility at this stage in the day will be good.
3pm: It will be overcast again at this point, although the temperature will rise to 9C, even if it feels like it is just 5C. There’s just a 10% chance of rain.
4pm: The sun will peep out again, with sunny intervals expected. The temperature will drop a little but the wind will pick up, with gusts of 41mph due.
5pm: The high winds will continue and it will still feel cold at around 0C, even if the actual temperature will be around 6C. The sun will set at 5.30pm.

Hide Ad6pm: Cloud cover is expected, with the wind speed expected to remain around 45mph mark.
7pm onwards: A clear night is predicted, although it will remain cold at around 3C or 4C, although it will feel like it is -1C. The high winds will continue, with 32mph the lowest speed expected, dropping off to 19mph by 6am tomorrow.
