The Pools boss has helped transform the side from a mid-table National League outfit to genuine promotion contenders in the fifth tier within the space of 18 months.
And with seven matches remaining in their regular league season, Hartlepool have their best chance of a return to the Football League since their 2017 relegation.

Hide AdWhen describing his experience as manager so far, Challinor was brutally honest as he told The Mail: “Being involved every day can be frustrating, it can be annoying but ultimately it’s very rewarding.
"We had a target and you want to be successful and do what it takes to make that happen."
Since taking charge at Hartlepool in November 2019, Challinor has almost completely changed the side’s starting line-up with only Nicky Featherstone, Gavan Holohan and the currently injured Ben Killip keeping their places throughout his tenure.
The additions have helped create a fit, hardworking team of players that have been able to compliment each other well opposed to a group of out-and-out match winners.

Hide Ad“We’d love to have five or six players who can just wave a magic wand so to speak and win you a game out of nothing but that’s not something we aspire to be,” Challinor added.
“We’re a hard working team first and foremost and we’re getting our just desserts based upon that. When you factor in the ability and tactical information the players have and take on board, a little bit of luck and a real willingness to stick together, it’s massively rewarding.”
